Why can’t modern coffee still taste like home?

The Founders

It started with one question

Harshitha Vijay and Vijay Kumar T.P built 7BC under Surartha LLP in Karnataka. The question above is the one they could not shake, and the answer turned out not to be another coffee brand.

It was a return. To the brass filter, the slow decoction, the unhurried morning. 7BC holds that memory to modern standards: estate direct sourcing, small batch roasting, and a range that fits the way people actually live now without losing what made the ritual worth keeping.

The Seven Seeds

Why seven?

Seven coffee beans reached the hills of Karnataka in 600 AD, carried home from Yemen by a Sufi saint who defied the trade bans of the age. From those seven seeds came the estates of Chikmagalur and Coorg, the brass filter, and the morning ritual of a whole nation. Each seed carries a feeling we still roast toward.

01

Memory

The smell of decoction before anyone in the house had spoken a word. That is the memory we roast toward.

Where It All Begins

The Estates of
Coorg & Chikmagalur

Nestled in the Western Ghats at altitudes of 900 to 1,800 metres, these misty estates produce some of India’s finest Arabica and Robusta. Volcanic soil, steady rainfall and cool highland air create a flavour profile unlike anywhere on earth: bold, rounded, with a natural sweetness no processing can replicate.

7BC buys directly from estate partners who have farmed this land for generations. No middlemen. No shortcuts. Just coffee that carries the memory of the mountains it grew on.

Where It Comes From

Grown in the Western Ghats

Our beans grow between 900 and 1,800 metres in the volcanic red soil of Coorg and Chikmagalur, Karnataka’s original coffee belt. We buy straight from estate partners who have farmed this land for generations, which means fair prices, no middlemen, and beans that still carry the memory of the mountain they grew on.
